Sticking Point

Sticking point means the points that will stay in order for an agreement to be reached.

The problem is that it sounds sofa king weak. Sticky ? What are you five and chewing gum ? Sounds so temporary and bullyable. And then point ? As in the little tip of a ballpoint pen ? Not exactly a presentation of strength in language.

Maybe if the University of California TAs used stronger language saying these our the "unmoveable pillars" maybe they would've won against the UC.

Just one lingustic anthropological observation. . .
