"The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it." - Albert Einstein

"We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people."
Dr. Martin Luther King

Both quotes from respected figures of the past.

Both cite inaction of regular people.

First quote was on the profile of Dr. Deborah Schuman-Kauflin of the Violent Crimes Institute, a vehicle used by anti-immigrant groups to exaggerate violent crimes committed by immigrants

Second quote is on the email signature of a faith-based immigrants rights organizer in Colorado, Fidel, "Butch" Montoya

What's interesting is how they would use these quotes in the context of their work --- both to incite people into action.

The difference is that I'm less partial to the Violent Crime monger because of her proclivity to label, divide, and demonize people.
