My Ineptitude with Technology (Especially from Best Buy)

Ughhh. This is one of those posts that are more like my own mental notes so that I don't forget somethings. [First point is an admittance, 2nd point is an "actual" mental note]

I like to think that I know a little more than the average person about my technology, but then DS Lars the bastard always reminds me what's quality and what's not. But I look at the technology I have now, and it fuckin' falls apart.

- My Sony digital camera can't take pictures. Ooo but I can view pictures from the past (Now that's useful !) I've searched through every damn manual they have and can't "troubleshoot" the shit camera at all. It's barely over a year old. Solution: Taking it back to Best Buy ! Next time: I'm looking to DS for advice. . .whatever his fuckin' camera is.

- My eMachines piece of shit keeps short-circuiting, i.e. turning off, when I go on iTunes, try and burn CDs, or hell any random time. This computer I got in goddamn July. Solution: Maybe I should stop leaving that shit on for such and extended amount of time, seems like it gets overheated. Or else I'm taking it to Best Buy ! Next Time: Just getting a Dell.

- My shitty Epson printer hasn't worked, so I use DS Lars' every time I have to print some goddamn paper (And I've taken a lot of classes this year that have required papers). It's been so long since I tried using it that I forgot the nature of the problem. Solution: Get a new printer. Hmm. Maybe not from Best Buy this time even though this particular printer was from COMPUSA, 8 years ago. Next Time: Getting a Hewlett Packard.

So what the hell was the point of this post ? Shit, it was a mental note to establish two things: my ineptitude with technology [admittance] and the shadiness of Best Buy ["actual" mental note].

CD Security

After downloading songs from Kazaa, I know that annoying shit is coming. That dreaded scratch sound that says "try again, sucka." And usually, I try and download something else that uses lower bandwith cause there's less likely to be some idiots who's copies have been secured and thus scratched up.

There are two advantages to winmx:

1) I don't really want to figure out how or why that happens on Kazaa, but I may have found a handy old solution in winmx. Yes, that older, slower thing. As of this moment I have yet to experience a scratched up song, after having downloaded Nelly - Shake Ya Tailfeather, Evanessence - My Immortal, and Blackstreet's - No Diggity, 3 songs that you could download on Kazaa and hear the power of that stupid scratch noise. 2) Winmx is still as user friendly as kazaa, and you're likely to find more obscure stuff there. For example, I found L.V.'s "Throw Your Hands Up" there on the first try whereas I never ended up with any results via Kazaa. So you'll able to find grungy grungy underground, underpopular stuff there.

However even though you'll find super grungy really unknown stuff on winmx, Kazaa is still more organized, reliable, and faster with the popular underground and lesser-known stuff like Ugly Duckling, Goapele, or Ben Harper because it draws upon a lot of sources and maybe the Kazaa users with that music are more informed and keep their stuff off CD security (Guessing). And I would think most adults' music is towards that lesser-known, underground taste. Winmx is merely an alternative for truly popular music.

Blah, I also don't want to get into the legal rammifications of downloading. I'll save that for when I have time.

Stupid Fax Machine Is Elitist and Wants to Kill Me

These muthafawkin' conveniences. They're just more trouble than they are worth.

Today, it's the fawkin' fax machine. It ran out of film 5 days ago, so then it started beeping. And beeping. And beeping. And its about driven me nuts because it has not stopped.

I would like to know who added sound to the fax machine. Clearly, the added sound to the fax machine was a socially darwinistic high-class office invention. The punk who decided to add sound to this invention obviously failed to take into consideration that fax machine owners would not automatically have film to replace the old film. And the elitist punks knew that poor peons like us who tried to be high-class like them knew that we would not have film. And they took our freekin' money for it. And the name of the guy who added sound to this horrible machine is mysteriously being concealed. Conspiracy ? I think so. This is the high-class way of subtly killing us off to finally create that master breed that they've always wanted.

Bastards.



This constant noise that the fax machine emits is messing with my neurology. The American Academy of pediatrics says, "Noise is undesirable sound."

Great.

Coincidentally, the guy who invented this fax machine is named Alexander Bain. And Bain sounds like "bane." The bane of my existence.

Maybe tomorrow you will see a picture or even an mpeg file with me beating the crap out of this little lower-class terrorist office space style. But, my dad would get mad.

New Buy New Buy. . .Good Buy ?

I just got this video processor for 100 bucks.



This video processor will negate any need of a television up there. However, when I was trying to beat on MJ, Wilt, and Shaq in NBA Street 2 with the soon-to-be backcourt trio of Chicago Scottie Pippen, Jalen Rose, and a created Jamal Crawford, I couldn't because the jerky, syrupy movement of the players on my monitor was distracting me all game long. Then when I switch back to a television set, the graphics become more sharper and un-jerky and I beat the crap out of those hall of famers.

Is this type of jerky resolution for console video games on computer monitors as good as it gets ?

Can I fix it ?

Computer people, I know you have the answers for me.
